The Ministry of Tourism (Kemenpar) is presenting a Gastronomy Tour program at the “Pangan Nusa 2025 Exhibition,” involving six selected gastronomy industry players at the exhibition, which will take place from October 15–18, 2025, in Hall 9 of the Indonesia Convention Exhibition (ICE) BSD City, Tangerang.
The Deputy for Industry and Investment at the Ministry of Tourism, Rizki Handayani, in a statement in Tangerang on Wednesday (10/15/2025), stated that the program, themed “Eat, Explore, Experience Indonesia Gastronomy,” is part of the Tourism Upgrading campaign initiated by the Ministry of Tourism.
The program aims to promote Indonesian gastronomy as a new force in tourism promotion, while also opening up investment and business networking opportunities in the culinary sector.
“Through the Gastronomy Tour, we want to show that Indonesia’s culinary richness is not just about taste, but also about the cultural heritage and experiences that accompany it,” said Rizki.
The six selected gastronomy industries participating in this program are Wisata Kreatif Jakarta, Rendang Traveler Uni Reno, Bumi Bhuvana, Dje Djak Rasa, Samsara Living Museum, and Negeri Rempah Foundation. All six are industry players who have previously participated in the Wonderful Indonesia Scale-Up Hub (WISH) program.
In this activity, they are presenting gastronomy tour packages that not only highlight the rich flavors of Indonesian cuisine but also present the stories and philosophies behind them. This approach is expected to broaden tourists’ perspectives on Indonesian cuisine as part of a holistic tourism force.
Rizki added that the Gastronomy Tour will also showcase various superior products from Food Startup Indonesia (FSI), a culinary incubation platform that has produced many export-ready product innovations.
“The momentum of Pangan Nusa 2025 is expected to be a crucial stepping stone in realizing Indonesia as a leading global gastronomy destination,” he said.
The Pangan Nusa 2025 Exhibition is organized by the Ministry of Trade as part of the 40th Trade Expo Indonesia (TEI) series, which carries the spirit of “Encouraging Local Products to Penetrate the Global Market.”
As a showcase for Indonesia’s superior food products, Pangan Nusa 2025 presents a variety of creative, innovative, and high-value-added products from domestic businesses, from MSMEs to large industries. This year, 186 culinary and packaged food businesses participated in the exhibition, reflecting the high enthusiasm of the national food industry.
Of these, 37 businesses served ready-to-eat dishes, while the rest showcased a variety of superior packaged food products, ranging from snacks and specialty drinks to processed spices and raw materials that have undergone a rigorous curation process.
This event not only serves as a promotional platform for culinary products but also serves as a strategic platform to open export market access, connect businesses with international buyers, and strengthen Indonesia’s position as a key player in the global food supply chain.
“Through this strategic collaboration, the Ministry of Tourism hopes that the Indonesian gastronomy industry will become increasingly recognized internationally, gain access to new markets, and strengthen the contribution of culinary MSMEs to national economic growth,” said Rizki.
