Tired of the same old life in your country? Feeling like moving to a faraway land? Or do you want to explore a new phase that’s different from the world you’ve been living in? Perhaps you could consider Italy!
Yes, Italy, a country often lauded for its rich arts, culture, and cuisine, is opening its doors to foreigners who want to settle there. Specifically, a village called Radicondoli, located near the city of Siena, or about an hour’s drive from the capital of Tuscany, Florence.
Francesco Guarguaglini, the local mayor, recently allocated over €400,000 this year, or approximately 7.8 billion Rupiah, to attract new residents, offering various incentives ranging from home purchase assistance to student subsidies. To broaden the scope of interest, Radicondoli will also cover half the rent for the first two years for newcomers who register by the end of December 2025 and move in by early 2026. Renters must stay for at least four years. Since introducing this incentive in 2023, Radicondoli has welcomed approximately 60 new residents. They hope to welcome another in 2026.
Radicondoli is a charming hilltop village with the character of a medieval village dating back 1,000 years. With its creamy-brown Tuscan buildings, medieval cobblestone streets, ancient fortified walls, and sweeping views of wheat and sunflower fields, this village truly embodies the Italian character you’ve always dreamed of.
